Summary

Josh is an experienced trial lawyer and has a track record of successfully defending numerous clients in criminal matters. His practice includes the defense of professional liability claims, general and automotive liability matters, white-collar criminal cases, and computer-related crimes. He also specializes in handling settlement of claims and lawsuits brought on behalf of minors.

Josh has tried dozens of cases while working for the Oakland County Prosecutor’s office, where he prosecuted a variety of different types of criminal cases including arson, assaults, damage to personal and real property, embezzlement, as well as a variety of fraud offenses, including insurance fraud. During his time as a prosecutor, Josh worked closely with Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Automobile Theft Unit on various matters, including fraudulent insurance claims, fraudulent insurance applications, and false insurance certificates.

In addition to practicing law, Josh has also taught classes at the Oakland County Police Academy (Admissions and Confessions, Evidence) and has provided legal updates to the local police agencies.

Won summary judgment in the United States District Court Eastern District of Michigan Southern Division on behalf of an attorney and law firm that represented a condominium association in an underlying collections matter, where the plaintiffs alleged violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Michigan Regulation of Collection Practices Act (MRCPA), the Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organization Act (RICO), and allegations of abuse of process.
