Noreen Slank has argued three cases in the Michigan Supreme Court this fall: (1) Jilek v Stockson, a medical malpractice case that examines the expert witness requirements for family practitioners serving patients in urgent care settings, (2) McCue v O-N Minerals, a case that examines the potential duties owed by a heavy industry landowner who makes intense use of a state highway allegedly sufficient to cause road deterioration and a bicyclist’s injury, and (3) Velez v Tuma, a medical malpractice case that will decide how common law settlement set-offs are to be handled when non-economic damage cap reductions are also at issue.
