Sullivan Obtains Summary Disposition on Behalf of Lawyer Client

05/08/2011

Mike Sullivan recently obtained summary disposition on behalf of his lawyer client who was sued for malicious prosecution, abuse of process, and intentional infliction of emotional distress in connection with activities under taken in attempting to collect against a Judgment debtor. In what was seen as an effort to avoid collection of the debt, the Judgment debtor filed a lawsuit against the lawyer that had been hired to collect a substantial judgment. Mike Sullivan, with the assistance of associate Monika Sullivan, filed a Motion for Summary Disposition, challenging the legal viability of Plaintiff’s claims of abuse of process, malicious prosecution, false light invasion of privacy, tortuous interference with business expectancy, and defamation. The motion was granted by the trial court. There was no appeal.
