Summary

With over 12 years of experience in civil litigation, Rob Haynes has built a reputation as a sharp, strategic advocate who knows how to win in and out of the courtroom.  He was inspired to pursue a legal career after working in public relations, lobbying, and governmental affairs where he was involved in compliance related to campaign contributions for local and state politicians.

Having practiced in multiple states and handled cases from both sides of the “v” — representing plaintiffs and defendants — he brings a well-rounded approach to every case.  Rob has secured victories through both trial and motion practice, including five trial wins as first chair, and numerous dismissals via motion practice. Whether defending businesses in high-stakes disputes, protecting clients from liability, or navigating complex negotiations, he knows how to craft winning strategies. With a diverse background spanning commercial litigation, personal injury defense, and more, he understands how to break down legal challenges and find practical solutions. This broad experience is particularly valuable in professional liability matters, where the underlying lawsuits can involve a wide range of legal issues and industries.

A skilled oral advocate, Rob honed his litigation skills early on through competitive moot court, including representing his law school at the prestigious Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, as well as multiple other moot court competitions. That foundation in persuasive advocacy carries through to his practice today, where he is known for compelling courtroom arguments and sharp legal analysis.

What sets Rob apart is a commitment to preparation, a deep understanding of the law, and a straightforward, results-driven approach. Whether in the courtroom or at the negotiating table, he fights hard for clients and knows how to position cases for the best possible outcome.

Admitted to practice in Michigan and New York state and federal courts, Rob stays ahead of legal trends to provide strong, up-to-date defense strategies.
