Collins Einhorn Farrell PC is pleased to announce that Theresa Asoklis has been named a 2020 Leader in the Law by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. Theresa is one of 30 distinguished lawyers to receive this prestigious honor. Recipients are selected based on significant accomplishments and contributions in the legal field, leadership in improving the justice system in Michigan, seeking improvements to the legal community and their communities at large, and setting an example for other lawyers.
Theresa has spent her entire career at Collins Einhorn. She joined in 1989 and is now the firm’s CEO. Her aptitude for leadership and commitment to excellence in the practice of law propelled her to thrive as the firm’s first female managing partner and has allowed her to become an inspiration to many in the legal field.
For the past 30 years, Theresa has focused her practice in the areas of professional liability defense and trucking and transportation law. She has defended attorneys, judges, insurance agents, real estate agents, accountants, engineers, surveyors, and architects in a wide array of civil matters and in disciplinary matters. Theresa has also defended trucking companies and their drivers in high-exposure injury and wrongful death cases.
Theresa’s talent and expertise have been acknowledged by other organizations. In 2015, she was recognized as Best Lawyers® “Lawyer of the Year” (Metro Detroit) in Professional Malpractice Law – Defendants. She has been recognized by Best Lawyers® in this practice area for ten years and by Super Lawyers™ in Professional Liability for 11 years consecutively, along with a Top 50 Women Michigan Super Lawyers listing for several years.
Theresa has achieved successful outcomes on behalf of her clients in both state and federal trial and appellate courts. She understands that, especially in the professional-liability arena, protecting her clients’ reputations is just as important as protecting their pocketbook. She takes both obligations to heart.
Theresa also recognizes that a profound impact can be made on an individual level; she consistently prioritizes the mentorship of young lawyers, empowering them to develop their own practices and reputations. She also leads through example. Each day, she models unshakeable integrity and fierce commitment to her clients. It is impossible not to feel inspired when working with Theresa.
Theresa states: “I am honored to receive this recognition and thank the members of my firm who nominated me. I have been blessed with great mentors who have led to my success as a lawyer and taught me the value of leadership. It is not a coincidence that several of them (Brian Einhorn, Noreen Slank, and Mike Sullivan) are past recipients of this award. I learned from the best.”
Theresa’s success and passion—both in and out of the courtroom—have earned the respect of everyone privileged to work with her. Her selection as a 2020 Leader in the Law is well deserved.
Theresa and the other honorees will be recognized at an awards ceremony on April 9th at Detroit Marriott Troy.
