Collins Einhorn is pleased to announce that attorney Kyle N. Smith has been included in Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s Up & Coming Lawyers class of 2019. Smith was one of thirty honorees selected via committee based on criteria which include having established a name for themselves, going above and beyond, and displaying the ambition, drive, determination, and accomplishments that set them apart from their peers. Only attorneys in their first ten years in practice are eligible for this prestigious award.
Smith, a shareholder at the firm, specializes in automobile liability defense. He has tried six cases to jury verdicts and obtained successful results for his clients. Civility, courtesy, and professionalism are hallmarks of Collins Einhorn, and Smith has adopted and helped to advance these principles through his practice of law.
Smith is an active leader in the legal community, where he is involved in numerous associations and groups. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Negligence Law Section Young Lawyers Committee, which is comprised of plaintiff and defense attorneys who work together to promote the fair, equitable, and speedy administration of negligence litigation. Smith is also a member of the Association of Defense Trial Counsel and the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel.
In 2018, Smith received the Young Lawyers Golden Gavel Award from the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel. The award is given annually to an attorney recognizing their significant achievement within their area of practice, community, and the advancement of young attorneys. Michigan Super Lawyers named Smith a Rising Star in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
Smith is also dedicated to his community through his involvement with Angels’ Place, an organization that provides care, homes, and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Smith is also on the Detroit Catholic Central High School Alumni Association board. As part of his involvement with the school’s activities, he gives a presentation each year to students about the legal field and careers in law. He interacts with the students, answers questions they have regarding the legal profession, and offers guidance for students who are considering a career in law.
