Laura A. Alton

Summary
Laura Alton brings a thoughtful, steady approach to her work and a clear focus on delivering strong results. Known for her approachable style and sharp instincts, she is someone clients trust to guide them through complex legal issues with confidence and care.
As an attorney in the firm’s General Liability Defense Practice Group, Laura focuses her practice on third-party auto, premises liability, and condominium law matters. She is known for her strategic thinking, attention to detail, and commitment to building strong, fact-based defenses. Her work is shaped by a deep sense of fairness and a belief in helping people through challenging moments.
Laura’s experience spans several areas of the law, including no-fault, immigration, and civil litigation. Before joining the firm, she clerked for personal injury firms, served in the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office Conviction Integrity Unit, and completed a judicial internship with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. As a student attorney with the Wayne State University Legal Advocacy for People with Cancer Clinic, she managed sensitive legal matters with empathy and professionalism.
A standout career moment came during her first trial as lead counsel, when the case settled favorably before she finished her cross-examination. Since then, she has second-chaired multiple jury trials resulting in no-cause verdicts and has successfully argued dispositive motions in both state and federal courts.
Laura earned her law degree from Wayne State University Law School, where she also built a strong foundation in client advocacy and litigation. Outside of the office, Laura enjoys trying new restaurants, watching her favorite shows, and spending time with family and friends. As one of five siblings, she learned early how to listen, stay grounded, and hold her own—qualities that continue to shape her as a trusted advocate and advisor.
